My place to shout out loud about random stuff.
I'm a PC and I wear glasses.

It seems there won't be any more Seinfeld ads from Microsoft, probably because it took them some time to realize that they didn't hit as popular as intended. This next ad initiates Phase 2 of Microsoft's extravagant investment to improve it's image amongst the crowd, especially in the aftermath of Apple's infamous "Get A Mac" series.
Contrary to Apple's [stupid?] portrayal that the Mac is for the hip crowd, and PC users are downright nerds, this one goes out of it's way to tell us that not all PC users are like poor John Hodgman, who appears as PC on the Mac ads.

This new ad does seem a lot better to me than the ill-fated Seinfeld ones, because most of them didn't make much of a point about Microsoft until the last 5 seconds of the ad. For one thing, instead of flaming Apple stuff like Apple does with Microsoft, Microsoft only set out to prove that they aren't what Jobs wants us to believe.

Let's see what the folks at Redmond bring up next...

Just thinking out loud here but is it the fancy ads that convince people that one product or service is better tha another or is it the quality of the product or service provided.  Hmmm, I think I'll need to take some time to think about this.

Most definitely!  This ad looks more genuine/realistic because ordinary everyday folk are portrayed as being PC users, whereas the Mac ads look contrived/synthetic/arrogant... and the Seinfeld ads, just plain stupid.

I kept thinking of Kirk Douglas in "The Vikings" and his line [in a very strong American accent]  "I'm a Norse man" ....

Yeah, this "I'm a PC" campaign is taking off big time.  I just got an email from Microsoft inviting me to send in a photo of myself with a "I'm a PC" caption on it.

Hmmm, I thought, that's very likely.  Put on a bit of weight: so first off I'd need one of those wide angle panoramic lenses to get me all in... and secondly: one of those 'large' file servers to upload it cos it'd never fit in an email.

Besides, I dunno that I want my mug plastered over the MS site... being that Google will data mine it for personal identification purposes after I gave 'em a right royal serving over their new browser.

Nah, me thinks I'll pass that one up and go incognito for a while 'til it all blows over.

Yeah....and I love the ads running on tv now about telling people they are using the "new" version of Windows called "Mojave" which was really Vista. But it doesn't help to much when half the people they showed seemed like complete idiots.
