I joined WC around two months ago, as of now: June 8,, 2008.
After finding my way into the forums and exploring it, I found it helpful and fun, and I soon started adapting to it, reading posts, writing posts, etc.
Something I noticed very late, probably around in early May, was karma. Zubaz seemed to beat the others to it, having 112 karma points now. Many other helpful and kind users also had high amounts of karma, and they still do, and I sought an answer to my never-resting question: why do people have karma?
When I finally knew, I was disappointed by the fact that I was stuck at zero. I'm a newbie myself, so I won't really be considered helpful, but I still wanted to get some karma. Yet gradually, I forgot all about it and went on exploring the site without even looking at my karma score at all.
So today, I posted at a forum, and when the page refreshed, I saw my comment. Along with it, I saw my karma. It was 6 points.
>Waits for people to exit the page, cursing and boo-ing<
It might not seem much. Compared to other scores, this is crap. But for me, it's what I always dreamed of, to be a part of WC and the extraordinarily kind and angelic people you get there.
So, I'd like to say thanks to all those four users who gave me karma. Whether I'll get more after this post or whether I deserved it, it's not for me to decide.
